The Olive group restaurants used a variety of innovative strategies to keep their business running and stay engaged with their patrons during the Covid 19 pandemic.
At the Delhi & Hyderabad properties they dressed up mannequins that were used to ensure safe distancing between tables in designer Gaurav Gupta’s new collection, making it an innovative way of previewing a collection at a time when fashion shows were next to impossible.
There were, also for example, curated ready-to-plate gourmet meals, which came with the opportunity of a virtual chat with the chef who would guide them through a 3-course meal at home. Similarly, there were DIY love meals for two which came with special ingredients including chef’s special sauces, Date Night Box, Brunch Box & Hangover Healer Box, which came with cocktail mixes and elements like flowers, table runners, even a curated Spotify playlist, to make the dining experience memorable.
And when things began opening up, there was a hugging wall in one of the restaurants in the form of a sheet with four peep holes through which you could hug your friends the safe way.
Finally, there was the Kitchens Against Hunger initiative to feed the most vulnerable during the pandemic, and helping Youth Feed India raise funds to provide meals and ration sourced from local wholesalers and distribute it to the less fortunate and hungry.
